Round 21 – K
My 15j-th entry – bijdrage
My first entry: 28-08-2014 : 15-G
Hi Everybody, a very good- morning / -afternoon / -evening!
Today I want to introduce to you a wonderful lady!! Her name is Caroline Kaart.
Although she was born in Blackness (Schotland) on 21 december 1931, she moved to The Netherlands in the 1950-s after marying a Dutch tenor / theatre-actor. I was fortunate enough to have a wealthy uncle and aunt in my childhood and they took me to the operahouse on many occassions. I cherish so many wonderful lovely moments with them at my side at a performance of Caroline.
She became famous, not only as an operasinger but also as a teacher, vocalcoach etc. In 1982 she has been given a nighthood by our royal family. She is still occupyin herself with giving singing lessons.
I have choosen a duet with a Dutch singer called Gerard Joling…I hope you enjoy it!
To add something extra… I also place here below a recording of a song sang by her husband, who passed away after a failed surgery in 1963, just a few years after they got married and Caroline moved to The Netherlands. His name was Hans Kaart.

Yes indeed I was… very much so. They have passed away many years ago but I still think of them very often.

Beautiful voice. A tragedy her husband died early, I imagine their voices would have been lovely together.

I guess so too, I wish I could have heard them together.
Never heard of them, sorry !
No problem Gattina, you don’t need to apologize for that 😉
